Karen Foster-Schubert and David E. Cummings, both from the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition, have received the Endocrine Society’s annual Pfizer International Award for Excellence in Published Clinical Research, recognizing the four best clinical research papers published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism each year. Their paper is “Acyl and Total Ghrelin Are Suppressed Strongly by Proteins, Weakly by Lipids, and Biphasically by Carbohydrates”. The first author is Dr. Foster-Schubert and the last author is Dr. Cummings. This prestigious award includes a $10,000 cash prize and complimentary transportation, lodging, and attendance at the society’s annual meeting next month, where the authors will be honored.
Dr. Cummings is an investigator at the Diabetes & Obesity Center of Excellence.
