Dr. Vincenzo Cirulli, MD, PhD has been awarded an Innovative Pilot Award from the Institute for Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine(ISCRM) for his project entitled “Modulation of Gap Junction Connexins’ function as a strategy for developing innovative cell-based therapies for diabetes.”
This pilot project seeks to investigate the function of Cx43 in the specification and functional differentiation of hESCs toward the pancreatic islet cell lineage.
