Dr. Steven Kahn, UWMDI Associate Director for VAPSHCS Relations and Professor of Medicine, is the recipient of the 2019 Claude Bernard Medal and Lecture from the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). This award recognizes an individual’s innovative leadership and lifetime achievements in diabetes research and is the EASD’s highest award. Dr. Kahn will give the 51st Claude Bernard Lecture entitled “Unravelling beta cell dysfunction in type 2 diabetes: from the unpredicted to the unknown” on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
