Dr. Laura Crisa, MD, PhD, has received a Pilot Award from the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine (ISCRM) for her project entitled “Drug-controlled modification of transplants’ microenvironments for stem cell differentiation.” In collaboration with UWMDI investigator Dr Vincenzo Cirulli, MD, PhD and UWMDI Affiliate Investigator Dr. Cole DeForest, PhD (Department of Bioengeneering), the goal of this project is to develop transplant scaffolds that allow for pharmacologic control of tissue stiffness, in order to modulate stem cell tissue differentiation and regeneration.
