Work from the Cirulli and Crisa Labs featured on the cover of iScience. Their research uncovered a previously unknown function of the Gap Junction protein Connexin 43 as a positive regulator of stem cell differentiation into definitive endoderm and pancreatic progenitors. The image featured in the cover of iScience shows a microphotograph from a section of a teratoma derived from Elf1 human stem cells, stained for Sox9 (red), E-cadherin (green) and Vimentin (blue).
