A woman with long brown hair in a braid smiles at the camera. She has fair skin, dark eyes, and is wearing a dark-colored top with a plain background behind her.

Anna is an Assistant Professor and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Hanna H. Gray Fellow. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Washington in 2020, where she worked in Dr. Richard Palmiter’s lab studying hindbrain circuits that coordinate behavior and physiology during aversive experiences. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Nicholas Steinmetz, focusing on the coding rules that govern ingestive behavior across multiple timescales. Anna joined the UWMDI faculty in 2026.
