This 5-year, $1.625 million grant entitled ” Modulating glial-neuronal interactions to treat obesity and diabetes” explores the possibility that glial cells (the brain’s damage response cells) in the hypothalamus area of the brain play an important part in the process of becoming obese and developing diabetes.
