Diabetes & Obesity Center of Excellence Director and Researcher, Michael Schwartz MD, was awarded a one year NIH Instrumentation Grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) program. This award will provide Dr.

The Diabetes & Obesity Center of Excellence (DOCE) and the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Nutrition, are pleased to welcome two new Acting Associate Professors, Vincenzo Cirulli MD, PhD and Laura Crisa MD, PhD.

UW Medicine at South Lake Union Phase II was recognized with an AIA Washington Council 2009 Civic Design Award. The Annual AIA|WA Civic Design Awards were held May 14, 2009.

Karen Foster-Schubert and David E. Cummings, both from the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition, have received the Endocrine Society’s annual Pfizer International Award for Excellence in Published Clinical Research, recognizing the four best clinical research papers published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism each year.

The American Diabetes Association awarded Dr. Christiane Hampe a 3 year Basic Science Award for her project entitled “Humoral network in type 1 Diabetes.”
